Rare beans, carefully sourced across Southeast Asia. Specialty coffee with good intentions.
From Southeast Asian farmers and roasters:
Barlig Rainforest Coffee · I-Lias Tribe, Mountain ProvinceSingle Origin · Washed · Yellow Bourbon & Pink Bourbon · Caturra · 1,300–1,400 MASL
Grown on ancestral land in I-Lias, Barlig, deep in the Cordillera mountains of Mountain Province, this coffee comes from farmer Daniel, a member of the I-Lias tribe, whose people have cultivated this land for generations.
At 1,300–1,400 meters above sea level, the beans develop slowly in cool mountain air, concentrating sugars and building complexity. The Yellow and Pink Bourbon varieties — rare mutations prized in specialty coffee for their sweetness and layered character — are processed washed, producing a clean, bright cup with clarity and depth.
Not just a single origin but a farm rooted in a living culture, and a harvest that carries with it the I-Lias commitment to forest conservation, indigenous land stewardship, and the belief that quality and advocacy grow from the same soil.
400 grams, roasted by Ms. Lily Jamias of La Trinidad, Benguet.
Tasting notes: Expect floral aromatics, stone fruit sweetness, and a clean citrus finish. Farm: Barlig Rainforest Coffee Project, Lias, Barlig, Mountain Province Farmer: Daniel Jason "Kumafor" Maches Tribe: I-Lias, Cordillera Administrative Region Process: Washed · Species: Arabica · Variety: Yellow Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, Caturra · Elevation: 1,300–1,400 MASL
Due to anthropogenic pressures and the ongoing climate crisis, our rare beans are very limited. We are also hoping — deeply — that this is not the last chance to taste a coffee grown in one of our last remaining rainforests. Every bag is a reason to protect what's still here.
